I hear these two phrases far too often and it absolutely drives me crazy! What makes the matter worse is that I’m not talking about hearing it from children or teenagers who are aren’t yet in control of their lives. I’m hearing it from my peers, people my own age and it’s usually accompanied by a story about their unhappiness. They would love to be doing this or that, going here or there, learning something new, meeting new people but “they can’t”, or “they are just too busy”. So, they resign themselves to unhappily doing the same thing day in and day out unwilling to sacrifice part of their day to work towards what it is they would rather be doing.
Instead of saying “I can’t or I’m too busy” towards your dreams, goals and aspirations be honest with yourself and say, “I’m choosing not to!”
