This may not be what you want to hear but I encourage you to think about it for a moment.
I do not want to return to the “normal life” that we had before this event.
I do not want to go back to the time I over consumed products just because I could, without any thought or consideration about the person in line behind me and their needs.
I do not want to go back to a schedule that was packed from the moment I woke up, until I went to bed with things to do, but with little time to enjoy the people around me.
I do not want to go back to a time where I took my liberties and freedom for granted, where I put off that hike or adventure for another day.
I want to keep my new normal. The place where kindness, consideration, appreciation, and respect for others is cool again. Where grocery clerks, nurses, construction workers, truckers and first responders are recognized for the work they do, and we applaud them.
When this is all over, you can go back to your “old normal” if you want, but I’m going to keep this “new normal”!
